Growing Tips

Spinach

A fertile, moisture retentive soil ensures a continuous supply of tender leaves. In winter dig the soil over adding well rotted manure. Sow summer spinach in drills an inch deep and in rows twelve inches apart from March to July. Can be sown in 6 to 8 week intervals as required. Summer sowings should be sited in the shade of taller plants to prevent early seeding. Keep well watered in dry weather
